Destiny 2: top Crucible guns, and gun pairings

I recently made a post about how to play competitive in Destiny 2, in which I briefly described a load out being crucial to success. I didn’t want to make an excessive post, so I am making this, to give players a few ideas about gun pairing, and effectively using sub-classes in the Crucible.

I will be releasing new loadouts every week on tuesday, for as long as I can come up with them.

Loadout 1: shotguns and primaries

One of the most powerful gun pairings in the current meta, is a primary (maybe a pulse or hand cannon) paired with a shotgun. My favourite shotguns include: 

• The Mindbender’s Ambition(acquired from the nightfall “the Hallowed Lair”)

This is a far-range aggressive frame shotgun, meaning you will be able to kill at absurd ranges for the high damage. It is an energy shotgun.

-note: the curated roll is also very effective

• Dust Rock Blues (acquired from a lost sector on mars or menagerie)

This is the furthest range pellet shotgun in the game, so the range is what you are after.

It is a kinetic shotgun.

• Parcel of Stardust (from menagerie, as well as dropping from gambit matches)

This light-weight frame shotgun can shoot very fast, especially with the two underlined perks. This shotgun’s two-shot kill distance is further than that of a Dust Rock Blues, a shotgun mentioned above. It is a kinetic shotgun.

• Retold Tale (from activities in the dreaming city)

Similar to dust rick bluse, this pellet shotgun has a lot of range, but is an energy weapon, which is different from Duct Rock Blues.

1. The chaperone (from an exotic quest acquired from Amanda Holliday at the tower)

Because this is exotic, it has no random rolls, and is kinetic. This shotgun has the furthest one shot kill range out of all shotguns, but is a slug shotgun, meaning it is very effective when you hit headshots.

• Wishbringer (from crucible matches and rank-up packages from shaxx)

Although this shotgun is not great generally, with a roll as good as this one, it is deadly in Crucible. It is in the energy slot.

All these shotguns are decent with no matter which rolls you get, but with the right rolls all of these are deadly weapons at close range. All the masterworks are range masterworks, although that aspect is not all too important.

Primaries to be paired with these guns include:

• Redrixes’ broadsword
• Spare rations

The rolls for the primaries are not as crucial, although a good primary enhances the loadout. Because of this, i will only ist the god rolls for a few guns.
